Famous film director Mani Ratnam has started to direct a movie on story of Ravana. This film will come as three separate copies of Hindi, Telugu and Tamil with separate castes. As sri lankan we must be on alert on script and the whole movie as they can misinterprit our ancient king "Ranana" . As I heared from newspapers the character of "Ranana" is made as the evil cast of the film.
The film will also shoot in Sri Lanka too. As sri lankan with thousand years of great history, we must be alert on Mani Ratnam's Ravana script and we must not allow his to hide his good side of life. Ravana had forcely brought Seetha into Sri Lanka [his kindom], but he tried to win her heart in a soft manner [gave her gifts and kind friends].

let us wait and see
i don't know about mani ratnam, but all over tamil nadu and other parts of south india, ravan is viewed as being a positive character. he is even worshipped, since they view him as a dravidian hero who stood up to the aryan invader ram.
your post is really funny! what's wrong with you people? do you think that just because he gave Sita sweets to woo her it makes the deed of abducting someone any better? Would you feel happy if you are abducted by someone against your wishes and then given sweets to appease you? gosh get a life... abduction is abduction...i am sure you realise its impact given the situ in our country...
Dear Exiled,
I know that Ravana, our ancient king did a wrong thing. But he did that because of his love. He is only a passionate lover and went mad on that love.
i am sorry but i can only laugh! art is art, if mani ratnam wants to predict Ravana in whatever way its his prerogative. there are many other important issues to discuss today than waste our time over such things...
