Goodbye Tashni Chathurangi

Sunday night was Derana Dream Star's semi finals and the only female performer Tashni Chathurangi was removed from the programme according to the SMS votes. But My feeling is she deserve the final stage and most of people also wish her performance in final round. But the thing is with this multiple SMS vote system (which is great source of income for the TV channels ) real talented performance do not get the chance according to their talents. Boys with great networks of friends even use SMS machines (computer aided SMS sending mechanisms) to send SMS using SIM cards and they come up to the top.

All the judges in the pannel wish her participation, Nirosha Viraginee was the most! But finally we loose a good performer and final stage will not be a better place without her.

Swarnavahini Dance Stars Dance Final

Yesterday night Swarnavahini Dance Stars Dance Semi finals was finished and my favorite dancers Menaka Peiries and Chilie was selected for the Grand Final. Chilie came to a programme today morning and said that Swarnavahini Dance Stars Dance Grand Final going to be a very high tech event and all performers wanted to be ready for that environment and arrange their final performance according to that high tech environment with more and more visitors.

We are waiting to see the Grand Final. My Personal wish is Menaka Peiries to be the winner and I will do lot of SMS for her that day.

She was the performer got maximum marks from the panel. Upul Tharanga also tested positive for banned substance

We have so far many sportsmen who tested positive for illegal  substance. As I know Cricketers are not subjected to frequent testing for banned substance but it is only random check after tournaments. Anyway he had been  tested with his urine samples after the semi final match against New Zealand on March 29. They have already started disciplinary action against him and seems to be we are going to loose another great sport carrier to the nation like in Manju's case.

Today I got a Facebook chat message from friend and asked me to visit facebook page with Bin Laden Execution Video. I am sure it is auto generated message due to the nature of the chat texts.

I did not try as it definitely a joke or may be harmful for the computer and decided to inform my blog readers also.

Sri Lanka court today ordered to suspend Lankaenews.com news website which was a totally web based information source. Today I tried to visit Lankaenews.com website and they still running website and they have reported that "Sri Lankan trilingual news website Lanka e news is to be banned within the country until the 12th May 2011 following the decision issued by the District court judge Ms. Kumari Abeyratne of the Pugoda Magistrate, this morning."  No one above court decision except president according to law of Sri Lanka, so they will have to wait until court remove suspension to run their online news website in usual way for Sri Lankan users.

Sirasa being revolutionist of  Sri Lankan TV entertainment has started new reality TV programme called  "Mega Sangeeth". With 6 veteran musicians and several super stars will be perform in the program. Amal Perera, Kithsiri Jayasekara, Ashanthi, Uresha Ravihari, Aathma Liyanage and Nalin Perera are the 6 veteran musicians and they will be leaders of the 6 team and each will be given several super stars to perform and 60% of marks will be given by panel of Judges and 40% will be given by SMS or Phone votes of audience. Each day two teams will perform while 4 other teams' leaders working as judges. Each team will perform 5 songs per day and every day there will be 10 songs.

Pros and Cons
It is better to have a veteran musicians in the teams with the novices as they can guide them to perform professionally and allow them to be correct. Other thing is producers has selected a balanced team from wide range of areas of music such as hip pop. classic, film background, modern and stage
But when other team leaders give marks to performing team will they fair enough as they are giving marks to their own opponents! I think this point is added to make controversial and fights as those kind of things are required in reality programmes.
